How do I start a Praesidium in my parish?
1.Discuss with the Parish Pastor your desire to establish a Legion of Mary Praesidium and obtain his approval.
2. After approval is granted, prepare a message to be published in the Parish weekly bulletin. There is information about the Legion of Mary that can be used for the bulletin. (This is optional. The Legion of Mary can help provide a bulletin announcement if desired.)
3. Make announcement at the podium. This is optional. A seasoned Legion of Mary member can assist if needed.
4. Order materials for the display table. Legion of Mary will provide the literature about the Legion of Mary.
5. Set up a table in the church vestibule or gathering space with Legion of Mary materials. The Legion of Mary can provide materials and guidance.
6. Provide sign-up sheets and contact information of the Legion of Mary representative.
7. Obtain a meeting location and schedule the first meeting.
8, Send information to Cathy (Senatus Vice President) after a new praesidium is started (Officers information, name of new praesidium, etc). Cathy can further elaborate.
